SHINY HAIR

I am completly obssessed with my hair. My hair is funky lol...my mom is black and my dad is white and my hair is natural. I used to the whole perm thing, but it wrecked my hair. So I stick to my natural spiral curls when I'm being lazy lol and straighten it when I get tired of the curls. This saves me a lot of time from being a slave to my flatiron and heating applicances which can be horrible for healthy hair. As my blog progresses I'll give more hair tips and secrets. Today's tidbit is Mayonaise...yes mayo. Now don't get me wrong I LOVE my great hair products...BUT they can get kinda pricey (esp when you have sooo much hair like me) when I find a great secret that saves me $ SCORE!! I've been doing some research to find some good home remedies for hair that aren't too complicated or pricey. I mean once u buy almond oil, avacado, rosemary....and boil this and mix that...you might as well have just bought the packaged product! I've heard many great things about simple mayo and how it makes your hair shiny and soft. I've dyed my hair 10000 times, so anything that adds shine without looking greasy is GREAT! Ok so back to the mayo...
*Wash your hair like normal
*Towel dry
*Add 1 cup of mayo or more depends on hair length
*Leave on for about 60 min or longer depending on damage
*Rinse with COOL H2O
*Style like normal

.....xtra tidbit....when you have natural or just really thick hair I like to go ahead and add conditioner and comb it out after the "wash hair" step. Just so it's easier to get the mayo out later and already de-tangled.

***V-DAY MAKE-UP***

So it's Valentines Day (DUH) and I thought I would share makeup tips for the perfect Valentines Date NIGHT. We all do the lets get dressed up and go to dinner thing, which I feel is always fun because it's an excuse to get DOLLED up...yay! I've been doing makeup for years now and gone thru my stages. Last year I really wore a lot of intricate makeup and really fun eye colors. This year I'm more toned down and like more of a bold lip. It's really up to you...pick your poison lol. So here are a couple of trendy makeup looks your date will die for ;)

 I LOVE this look...Rihanna always has fab makeup but it's always very fun. I have a MAC lip color similar to this "Up the Amp" which gives the perfect bold lip. Her eyes may look a little hard to accomplish but are actually fairly simple. She has a great black liner on the bottom, I recommend Mac "GraphBlack" liner....and don't be afraid to smudge it a little. The top is a dark blue/purple with a fun wing for a cat-like eye, I would do this by mixing a couple of things. First line your upper lid with a great black liquid liner like "Carbon Black" by L'oreal then going over it with "Ransom" and "Zero" eye shadows by Urban Decay.  This will give a great color affect that works with your lips. Throw on some lashes and blush and you got the look. **NOTE: for a more subtle eye you can use Urban Decay's "Eye shadow transformer" and dip it in the shadows, then line your top lid.


If you are looking a more classic date night look, I recommend the classic smokey eye with nude lip and great bronzer. Kim Kardashian always looks great with this look and I LOVE bronzer, it always makes ur cheekbones POP.

McQueen

Lee Alexander McQueen was such a artistic GENIUS. Truly gone too soon. His fashion is so legendary...I know you all can recall "Walk Walk Fashion baby..." from GaGa's Bad Romance video:

His work was so unique and out of that BOX we all hate. He could make the most costume-y outfits like GaGa's red lace "Queen" ensemble she wore when she won her MTV Music Award to fabulous period pieces. I just want to leave you with a montage of his creations to show off his amazing work:

Good Morning!!!

HI!!!!! 1st Blog entry...what to say...what to say?? Well I guess I'll tell you what this is ALL about. This is my Utopic threshold within the crazy internet monster. I just want to give you a vision thru my eyes...hence Rose Cuvered Glasses. It's just how I see things around me. Makeup tips, fashion, pop culture...really anything I find relevant. A couple of people have told me that my opinion is not only honest but funny, so hopefully others will find a humerus escape in reading my brain. The big news today is SNOW!!!!....but also the "We are the World" video premiere, I saw it a few min ago and it was so GREAT to watch. Seeing all the GREAT talents coming together for a GREAT cause always = well A LOT of media coverage lol. So here's the full video....tell me what you think :)
